Inbound Marketing

What is Inbound Marketing?

Inbound marketing, at the very core, is a methodology that aims to attract visitors to your website by promoting content aimed specifically at identifying the problems and hardships of your preferred clientele. Contrast this with traditional outbound marketing techniques which serve to interrupt, disrupt and invade a person's personal space in time with the intention of bombarding them with sales messages.

By creating compelling content offers, offering them in exchange for contact information, you can track those people who are interested in your product or service, and nurture them into qualified sales leads.

By attracting viewers with blog posts, emails (done properly), social media posts, etc, and pairing them with relevant content offers (in exchange for contact information), you are essentially funnelling interested customers through your system and into your sales team's hands.

What Inbound Marketing IS:

  • An overall marketing strategy.
  • A lot of work (with great payoff given enough time).
  • Effective.
  • A philosophy which requires commitment by your team.

What Inbound Marketing IS NOT:

  • Advertising.
  • Social Media.
  • 'Set it and forget it'.
  • More expensive than traditional advertising.
  • A single channel, or tactic.
  • Instant.
  • For everyone.
